Sometimes we&amp;#39;re so concerned about getting consensus that we&amp;#39;re afraid to state out front what we want.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In software development, specifically, I see programmers trying to get a group consensus on strategy before any coding takes place, no matter the size of the project. I have not used either tool for a year or two. Our company simply did not re-up either one. I think that had to do with the economy changing and us tightening our belts in terms of tools combined with the fact that we found Infogist less and less useful as time went on. I&amp;#39;ll explain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the things that I liked best about Talenthook was that I could run a query at the time when I wanted to run a query and it didn&amp;#39;t take me forever to do so. When we went to Infogist, I found the app to be very finicky. It would run extremely long query cycles and when you&amp;#39;d cancel you didn&amp;#39;t always get the résumé results you expected.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have had some follow up chances to view Talenthook and they&amp;#39;ve done some very nice things with the interface. A purchase decision is a purchase d...</title><content type='html'>Amen to this.  A purchase decision is a purchase decision, whether it&amp;#39;s a product or a person.  Someone has to decide if they want to buy you - they pay you and you work for them. The things that influence a decision to hire someone are the same principles as any other decision. They may like you because of your resume and experience, but they won&amp;#39;t be genuinely excited for you to join them unless they &amp;quot;feel&amp;quot; you&amp;#39;re a good fit in their company.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And if they don&amp;#39;t - that&amp;#39;s good too.  You wouldn&amp;#39;t want to work for a company in which you don&amp;#39;t belong.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The trick is to always be honest. Tell the truth about the things you live, the things that drive you - WHY you do what you do.  If you just say things that appeal to them, you&amp;#39;re back at square one.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A special shout-out to talentline411 for sharing the WHY and inspiring people to find the jobs that they LOVE.
